Downriver Community Clinic Logo Simplification and Custom Website
My creative process for Downriver Community Clinic centered on transforming its identity into one that felt approachable, modern, and friendly—qualities that aligned with its mission to provide healthcare to uninsured and underinsured communities. The client wanted to retain their original heart-and-stethoscope mark, so I began by refining it: simplifying the shape, removing unnecessary details, increasing line weight for clarity, and introducing a vibrant yellow to replace the traditional red—instantly making the brand feel warmer and more optimistic.
To build on that, I reimagined the color palette to add depth and cohesion while enhancing approachability. Every design decision—from typography to iconography—was made to reinforce a sense of trust and accessibility. The imagery was carefully curated and stylized with gradient maps to blend client-provided photos with professional stock, creating a cohesive visual language that felt both genuine and polished.
To support the clinic’s long-term autonomy, I developed a custom, responsive Squarespace website that the client could easily update, along with a full suite of branded Canva templates. This ensured consistency across future communications without needing ongoing design support, empowering the organization to manage and grow their visual presence independently.
